OBSCENITIES Poem by André Schmitz

OBSCENITIES

Obscene the poem says not, does not
- the only thing to say, the only thing not to do -
and which is silent, hides in the depths of the body
like a foetus dead and already decaying.
(And beyond obscene is the cat who reports

the song of a bird killed in her teeth.)
