October 2020 Poem by Mai Murphy Venn

The virus is still here.
Spreading rapidly everywhere.
No vaccine comes to aid.
More infected as we wait.

Our school children told to stay,
In-boxed room classes every day.
Government demands their way.
While mothers worry as they pray.

Religion comes to our mind.
The rosary beads are now untwined
We pray for the good of mankind.
As we asked God for a cure to find

Our old folks truly feel the pain.
For not seen family is a strain
Looking sadly out their windowpane
Life for them is not the same.
