Oddly A Great War Poem by Luke Preston

Oddly A Great War

The Great War,
What was so great about it after all?
It was devistation.

Lives were lost,
Thanks to all the trivial causes.
Love obliterated.

“The good times, ”
Back when worry was a shambles and a state of mind.
Death was everywhere.

Great was a time,
Great shouldn't be a sheath of deceit.
Great... It existed?

Great was once a time,
When people loved to live and love; as we should live to love.
Yet here life was expressionless.

This is a world war poem by a veteran of nothing; Luke Preston. The First of March 2009. Oh Great!
