I watched your life melt away,
like the candle in us all,
only faster.
And I stood by,
for nothing I could do,
powerless but sight.
Your life was the brightest,
but out of control,
like inferno.
One side rushing to defend,
the other pushing you onward,
how could you survive?
Yet the play goes on,
the dice roll forever.
And I wonder.
