Quota (2005r) Poem by Patrick Wescott

Quota (2005r)

Rating: 5.0

Sorry my good Sir,
I have yet to meet my quota.
I have failed to turn a profit
by all you ask of me.

I haven't had 2.5 kids.
My one car is enough for me.
Oh, and that over priced home,
can be bought by another fool.

My sincere appologies
for not being the patriotic puppet,
that willingly dies for your pocket.
I rather like owning my mind.

Sorry I couldn't be happy
with your mass produced life.
I rather enjoy building something to last,
and using my own hands to get it.

I'll thank you for peddling elsewhere,
I have no need for your wares.
I will not be an indentured servant
to produce my own happiness.
