Ode To An Unseen Friend Poem by Gabriel Oluwalana

Ode To An Unseen Friend

My friend living down beside me!
The standing black friend behind
The petrifying image at nightfall
Twin brother of every occasion

He that stand behind evil I commit
He that stand behind every good I do
Never he wink, never he smirk at me
Not he help me until I help me

Severally I thought of him
Many are times I want him
Some are times I chase him
But never he left me away of him

I huge myself beside fire frame
Yet he stand by me in the hell of flame
I never wish you to go off me
Stay beside always, for you're the sign of me

Accompany me to the plaque of gold
For I will place you on the plinth of gold
