Ode To Death Poem by Marc Jude Fernandes

Ode To Death

Rating: 5.0

O' Death I have extoll'd thee in many a rhyme
Thou movest with such ferocity
Thou art the offspring of Father time
Thou art a forgotten reality

Free from the struggles of a life so mundane
Released from this dreaded duty
I look at this world with so much disdain
A cauldron of vanity and insanity

Only thou can deliver me from this cage
The prison of life which I am in
I hope to turn a new page
Amidst all this confusion and din

From this despicable life, only thou can set me free
Embrace me! Is this too much to ask from thee?

Well conceived and elegantly crafted in persuasive poetic expressions with conviction. An insightful piece of poetry beautifully embellished with Shakespearean sonnet rhythmic splendour. A powerful work of art. Thanks for sharing Marc and do remain enriched.
