Ode To Two, Too Many Poem by John Zeller

Ode To Two, Too Many

This world, oh this world
Why? Why? Why?
do they hate us so?
want to kill us so?
They killed my brothers
With birds of destruction
My innocent brothers
Buried alive
Disintegrated
Incinerated
Crushed
A parade into heaven
straight out of hell
The floats are memories
The marching band plays
'Take me out to the ball game'
The hot-dogs taste like childhood
The cotton candy like sex
A string band passes by playing
'The theme from Hawaii Five O'
No costume's, just street clothes
Their faces all familiar
Jimmy
John
Keith
and Jerry.
Stevie
Robert
Janet
and many others riding on a float
Why are they all here?
Where am I?
It got dark so fast
The screaming in the vestibules
A marching band passes by playing
'Swing low sweet chariot'
Their wearing customs
Angelic black undertakers
The wind stops blowing
I dropped my hot-dog
it fell forever
