Of An October Day Poem by Francis Duggan

Of An October Day

A beautiful time of year the prime of the Spring
When in their breeding territories the nesting birds sing
In the southern October a lovely time of year
With the warmer weather of Summer quite near
The parklands quite green after the recent showers
Looking rather resplendent in their yellow cape flowers
And everywhere I turn to look I do see
The beauty in Nature everywhere around me
In Nature great beauty for all to admire
And of singing her praises one never could tire
The sights and sounds of Nature a lifetime does stay
The greenness of Spring in the sunshine of an October day
And the songs of the birds on the bushes and trees
Is carrying some distance in the freshening breeze.
