Of Changes In Duhallow Poem by Francis Duggan

Of Changes In Duhallow

There are many changes in the Duhallow of today
But some of them all for the better it does seem this way
Many different races of black, white and brown
In the Barony live in every village and town

The Duhallow of the twentieth century was a multicultural place
Where few had to go beyond Ireland their ancestry to trace
But the twenty first century brought to the Barony new people a welcome change indeed
Since of such a thing of Duhallow was badly in need

The Ireland i was raised in was a monocultural Land
And that many would like it to remain so one can understand
But changes for the better new people with them does bring
And multiculturalism can be such a wonderfulthing

I have not lived in Duhallow for many a year
And of changes for the better there such good news for to hear
Today there are many different races of black, white and brown
In every Duhallow village and every Duhallow town.
