The best laid plans,
Of mice and men,
Is a term of phrase,
From Burns's pen.

It perfectly describes,
Great schemes laid slain.
And leave us nothing,
But grief and pain.

Will we ever,
See the light.
Of man's folly,
Or a mouse's plight...
