Of Nothing To Say Poem by Francis Duggan

Of Nothing To Say

Known by the nickname of Nothing To Say
He never greets anyone with a good day
Though down to earth and quite free of guile
He is one who does not know how to smile
It is said of love in his life he never has known
In his mid forties he lives on his own
I have been told that he is rather wise
He works quite hard but he never does socialize
Independent in his ways friends he does not need
Loners nowadays are an endangered breed
I say hello to him when passing him by
But to my greeting he does not reply
He lives up to his nickname of Nothing To Say
To anyone he never does say good day.
