Of Things Not Words Poem by RIC BASTASA

Of Things Not Words

a puppy
beside a door

on a rag
a dung of
termites

outside
magnolias
are blooming

a snake escapes
from summer
heat

on the thicket
of moist grass
the green turtle

nothing depends
on someone
else
