Of wilder things
In the age before technology
long before self-consciousness
had been swallowed
by self-absorption
When by all accounts
terrors bore fangs claws horns
and they were too busy living
to label things
Living was the grand spectacle
a reason for celebration
The death of one
birth of another In time before words they gave themselves to the wind
fire rain and every element
that touched them
Holding in awe and deep reverence
the seasons their arrivals and passing's
the changes they brought
So they danced
before the fire
with un- named languages
sang into the un- tamed night dancing before a fire
they didn't start
couldn't light
