Offend No Man Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Offend No Man

Write for the world, a book of sweet verse
through all the long years to treasure;
compose the writings - never in haste,
or you will surely repent at your leisure.
A leather-bound book of poems and prose
with words that appeal to the masses,
intended for dreamers and tender of heart
and today's young lads and young lasses.

Tell of those beautiful 'salad days'
the history of music and love,
chiming bells and fairy-tales
or the angels from heaven above.
As you pen all your thoughts onto paper
displaying great feeling and tact,
offend no man... and hurt no man,
for there can be no turning back.
