Officer Robert Powell Poem by Ramona Thompson

Officer Robert Powell

Oh what a tangled mess of your life and career you have made
Fallen so very short of the glory once planned for you
Failed yourself and brought the very worst kind of shame to your department, fellow officers and family
In no way, shape or form should a cruel young upstart like you be allowed to hold onto your job
Caught on camera for all the world to see you for the monster of a man you truly are
Enemy of all who are decent, right and law-abiding
Relentless in quest to show off the power of your badge no matter who you hurt in the process

Rude to the extreme with a bad attitude to boot
One too many like are already out there on our streets
Best I think to make an example of you so no more of them think of stepping outta line
Everyone here will agree with me I'm sure that your firing is long overdue
Ruthless, cold hearted snake of a man, how do you live with yourself?
There seems to be no low that you won't sink to

Pathetic, just pathetic
One more black mark on the scorecard of the supposed good guys
Waste of a good badge on another bad, bad, no good racist son of a gun
Empty headed fool of fools
Little too late to offer some lame excuse or say that you're sorry
Little too late to give back a dying woman's last moment with her family

Hope that you're proud of yourself, officer Powell
