Oh Dear Children Poem by Edwina Reizer

Oh Dear Children

Oh dear children of this world
Time is drawing near
When you will look around and see
Things are not as they appear.

The men in suits that wear red ties
Have no thoughts for you.
They plot and plan your future years
And what is it you can do?

You're busy with your childhood games
That will leave you much too fast.
But the powerful ones have plans for you
And so your die's been cast.

Oh dear children of the world
Let your days go slow.
For looming not so far from you
will come life's crushing blow.

And those that birthed you sadly cry
But are helpless as they pray
"Oh dear God protect them please.
Let them find a way
to escape a world gone mad.
