Since you went away, the water has grown cold
A light has gone ~ which shone within my soul
I need you here to feast my eyes upon
So please swim back to me, oh graceful swan.

More beautiful than any summer rose
Upon the tranquil lake your white sheen glowed
The scene is bare ~ wherever have you gone?
Please come back to stay oh graceful swan.

Tomorrow, in the coolness of the day
I will search for you along the waterway
No other swan will ever please my eye
Until I see your snowy picture gliding by.
