Oh I Wonder Poem by Gio Masserati

Oh I Wonder

Oh I Wonder?

There once were two young women
They were 20 and you know what's funny?
One of them stared me in the eye
Over a guy

I couldn't understand
What was in her head?
Was this look over a man
Because he liked me instead?

I danced the rest of the night
Until break of night came
Loud and clear
Champagne dreams
With daybreak realities
Shining it's light

The truth shone bright
And filled the space
I understand now
The looks on her face

For once she was a little girl
And I to her a young woman in curls
A godchild shone her big cold eyes
Reached in me to pierce a wronging
How could odds of fate this dawning?

Life of mysteries
A standoff- both of them
Daggers toward my eyes
Stare off
Intuitive armor
Protecting my heart
A joy once shared
Now becomes empty
She may never know
That I came to know
Her
Revelations
Take time

Oh I Wonder
