Oh lay down close beside me as I sleep
Then step into my dreams and hold my hand
Pray hug me tight that I no more shall weep

For in the dreaming hours we'll slumber deep
Thus recollecting all that we had planned
Oh lay down close beside me as I sleep

Across the bridge of time we then shall leap
To reach out far and touch some distant land
Pray hug me tight that I no more shall weep

The path we climb may ever yet be steep
With many far horizons to be scanned
Oh lay down close beside me as I sleep

So softly, softly, through the hours we'll creep
Envisioning the lands that we have spanned
Pray hug me tight that I shall no more weep

For now our minds all distant time shall sweep
To see our future life before us fanned
