Oh, My Father Poem by EZHIL VENDHAN

Oh, My Father

Rating: 4.5

You introduced me the world
inculcating courage in me.

I don't know ever you said "no"
for anything difficult it may be.

You devoted your time
all along laboring in the fields.
But you were there to hug and kiss me
when I came with shields.

You counted every pie
you earned and saved.
But never bothered about
sovereigns worth spent on me.

You took all your children
to say them bye when you left.
But you have chosen not
to say bye to me as I won't accept.

Everyone is indifferent
in your absence and says you have gone.
Years have rolled on
since you left but
feeling your presence goes on.
