Oh Rain! Poem by Mutsawashe Museredza

Oh Rain!

Oh rain, a wonder you are,
as the heavens, drop their tears,
smiling to the earth!

Incessant you may come, day and night,
our plans take a rest, as the flora gain momentum
to reach their maturity,
Oh rain!

With all the joys and perils you bring,
the children crossing the thunderous rivers to school,
care is needed lest you may take some to the spirit world
Oh rain!

The flora and fauna, is livening up, blooming and glittering
with sprouting of the new stamens and petals.
Without it will become desolate life become arduous and the future will seem bleak,
Oh rain!

Hope is replenished for a brighter future.Oh glory to the Almighty
who knows what is good for us all before we have thought about it,
Oh rain!

Our swords have turned to plowshares, to work for the dear souls,
Oh rain!

Oh rain!
