Oh These Yellow Walls Poem by Kyle Rowan Van der Ross

Oh These Yellow Walls

Oh these yellow walls, my illusion of sunshine
Happy days when I was yours, and you mine
We looked so happy, but its not always as it seems
I never see you anymore, you're lost in my dreams
Oh these yellow walls, product of my imagination
Perhaps we'll never be, but I keep the hope
Holding onto faith, its my only way to cope
Wish you didn't have to go, but you had to leave for college
I'm dreaming, imaginations better than knowledge
Knowledge you're miles away and we drifted apart
Oh these yellow walls left imprints on my heart
I miss your touch and the way you used to stare
I pray for a text as a sign that you care
You were my sunshine, beaming light into my life
I had hopes and dreams of making you my wife
Staring at these yellow walls completely lost in time
Oh these yellow walls, my illusion of sunshine
