Old, And Left In Disgrace Poem by james watkin

Old, And Left In Disgrace

Playful, youthful; new in leaf;
A whirling joy-sheaf.
Ah! Child's impulses; gently stir
This shrub. All too brief!

Left numb; stripped of dignity;
Like a winter tree.
Passed through of what for them stormed
Self-destructively.
