Old Anger Poem by Tyler Burke

Old Anger

Have you ever had old anger
That comes back like an old story?
When you remember when you were just strangers,
But you were lifted in love and glory?

You fell too strong and hurt yourself,
You were blind and never saw it coming.
She called it quits and left you on the shelf,
She went walking you followed running.

That's the story over and over,
Why bother when you know how it feels.
Your faith just drops lower and lower,
Pain and love, they always make deals.

The nice guy loses, the badass wins,
While this nice guy who loses is left on the brink.
I give you my word, I give you my best.
If you are my next, please don't break our strong link.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The truth behind this is I don't always have luck when it comes to finding a right girl. I like to think the nice guys win, but clearly we can only be friends to those who get abused by those other guys. Should I keep my nice guy ways? Or give up and forget those days?
