Old Photographs Poem by Francis Duggan

Old Photographs

Old photographs refresh our memories of the past
Of our better physical years for us that did not last
We age rather quickly beyond our physical prime
And eventually we all does lose out to time
Immortality for humans is based on a lie
Like all other creatures we are born to die
Death the reaper of mortals is reaping every day
People must die for others to make way
Not everyone born to life live to die old
And many human life stories have never been told
That only the good do die young as a fallacy remain
Some old sayings way beyond me to explain
Old photographs refresh our memories of the past
Of our better physical years that for us did not last.
