Old To Young Poem by Alexzia Ferdinand

Old To Young

Rating: 4.0

heed the liars and the dreamers
the teachers and the schemers
heed the foolish and the wise
the mind and the eyes
follow highways and trails
the faraway seas to sail
follow maps or just get lost
let the wind be your boss
listen for the bluebird's song
and hum merrily along
listen to the clap of thunder
saint's admittance to a blunder
learn to laugh and learn to cry
learn to read into a sigh
learn to run and learn to stay
savor the fullness of a day
beware of love's gripping game
crippling hearts all the same
beware of hope's cruel assurance
meant to outlast your endurance
find the hidden flowers deep
blooming softly as you sleep
find the buried bits of treasure
not by dull, worldly measure
don't let age take you over
be inspired by a four-leaf clover
don't let time speed too fast
forever doesn't ever last
this advice my child
my only gift-from a
time near through
and a life well-lived
