Older Poem by Lyn Paul

Older

I see this face much older
Looking at where it has been
Having not visited too many horizons
Though it has gained from what it has seen

Time has passed too quickly
Yet at times it felt so slow
Every step I have taken
Has taught me just what I know

Life has stepped in speed
In which I have never slowed down
From running as a child
I never found my ground

So much time thinking
Thinking of every other
Not ever considering the outcome
As a mother

Challenges have not been easy
Laying trust in many hands
With unsuccessful outcomes
Too, seeing the troubles now facing our lands

It's hard to see society
Knowing what is wrong
With world leaders making decisions
Leaders who, clearly don't belong
