Om Namah Shivaya Poem by Mahathi Mydavolu

Om Namah Shivaya

It's pious Kailasa mountain range with snow
Topped tallest trees, huge rocks and chilly wind.
Some swans and eagles big are flying low.
That mystic mountain range none could ascend.

On top of the hill, amidst the icy rocks
Is sitting quiet in lotus posture one
Who's tall and coiffure long with curly locks,
At whose hot radiance the Sun does shun.

He's half-naked except tiger skin around
His waist. His holy body whole is smeared
With ashes fresh from crematory ground
And snake around his neck so vile and weird.

There's Moon on coiffure His and Ganga Ma
Is flowing fast from there. He got eyes three
Two cool with grace and third like almond raw
On his forehead; a kiln of burning spree.

In His meditative face, there's smile with love.
To Him that God of Gods, with zeal I bow.

Those who recite with pure devotional these hymns
Get blessed by Him and be relieved of sins
