On A Nice Day To Lay In The Shade Of The Trees Poem by Francis Duggan

On A Nice Day To Lay In The Shade Of The Trees

Out of the sun and the freshening breeze
A nice day to lay in the shade of the trees
Listening to the wild-born birds chirp and sing
To be alone with Nature is such a beautiful thing
Yet of Nature's ways so little i can claim for to know
And my wonder of her only does seem to grow
Though of her i do learn something new every day
In life we never stop learning it does seem this way
The Goddess of Nature everywhere around me
Wherever i look her beauty i do see
I cannot feel happy where noise it is rife
Those who feel bored with things natural are bored with life
The balmy air full of the buzzing of bush flies and bees
On a nice day to lay in the shade of the trees.
