On A Windy Night Poem by Dorsey Baker

On A Windy Night

He wipes the wetness
out of his eyes
as he walks
down the road
in the lonely night
forever a stranger to happiness
trusting no one
so fearful
like an animal
full of wounds
that never
seem to heal
the wind
grabs his big bib cap
from his head
and takes it on a long
and bumpy ride!
