When I look around me
I don't see no
barnyard full of joy
no fields of dreams
no baskets of laughter
no streams
running so smooth
but I see
the clogged waterways
the potholes
the cracked streets
the crowded roadways
trash cans full of garbage
loneliness unhappiness
in many places
explosive and destructive
motives
angry storms
rage all about us
mountains once strong
now crumbling down
before us
oceans too full of themselves
now overflowing
nature like a monster on rampage
viciously attacking us!
A poem full of despair? I likened it to people don't care? Poor nature is now at risk of our careless attitudes! .....well written Dorsey
We, as poets, need to look at the world through wise and truthful eyes but at the same time to find the good and the joyful and to write about it, as well.
This is how life is going on all around the world. People do not care about the harm they are doing to the nature. A very nice poem with a strong message. Congrats.
I can see the sad face of a dejected poet who has a sad tale of a lost beauty and joy around
Nice poem, and congrats on POD. Whenever I want to see a portrait of ugliness, I just look in the mirror!
Nature is warning us not to pollute, and crowd with the kind of congregation the new society requires. It has consequences. A sad but ugly reality of modern life. Great poem. Congratulations Dorsey.
We are destroying the world by polluting it. Nature will not watch it unconcerned but it will react. Congrats!
