On Breaking Up Poem by Jackie Chou

On Breaking Up

"There is no never-ending feast (All good things must come to an end) ."-Chinese idiom

Let us not mourn
But celebrate our parting
Let's pirouette in the wind
Catch raining petals
With outstretched hands
Let's not talk of tears
But dewdrops on pansies
Cut this web of connection
Like a spider's trap
And rejoice in selfhood
We will no longer
Call each other love
And it's all good
