On I Love You Poem by Richard Stopps

On I Love You

I do not tell my spouse or children that I love them,
Only for them to be reassured or delighted;
But rather, to remind myself of both a JOY,
and an obligation I bear toward them.

When that feeling blossoms,
Written indelible in my heart,
Then I must not only love them, but nurture them.
Love is UNITY. By expressing my heart, I complete myself.

I can love them better IF I do not stay mute.
A DAILY reminder for us all... becomes far too little...
The wonder of love's Universe is written large
But it is the daily whispered rituals that help us grow
