On Life's Stage Poem by james watkin

On Life's Stage

Our stage costume, together with
What for a proper fit
Which land's godly sense of itself
A people inhabit

Like any play, ended, laughed off;
That lent us, worn as fad.
Whilst of that projected image
Exploited, stood unclad.
