On My Own Poem by Balint Nagy

On My Own

The bells are ringing out, it feels like spring began
So tell me, if I told you that I missed you
Would you even care?
I guess I'll keep pretending ignorance
While I'm looking at the falling grains of sand in the hourglass

These people always circle around me
I just want to be alone
I feel much better
If I spend the time on my own

My soul's been sold
My heart is broken
Let me jump into the great wide open
Nothing can take the pain I feel
Feels like I'm living a nightmare

There's nothing left to stay
I'm falling back to sleep
‘Cause you left so easily
And took the best of me

These people always circle around me
I just want to be alone
I feel much better
If I spend the time on my own

My soul's been sold
My heart is broken
Let me jump into the great wide open
Nothing can take the pain I feel
Feels like I'm living a nightmare

Sleepless night have drained my soul
I've got so drunk and sunk so low
Nothing can take the pain I feel
Feels like I'm living a nightmare

Can't find my way
You were my light
Till you burned the candle out
I can't live, I can't die
Without you by my side

My soul's been sold
My heart is broken
Let me jump into the great wide open
Nothing can take the pain I feel
Feels like I'm living a nightmare
