On My Way To The Hall Poem by Sven Rhoads

On My Way To The Hall

Everyday is a battle that must be fought
And I'm always giving all I've got
But I know that time will come for me
And they will call the Valkyries
So much blood has been shed in this life
Feels like that there is now only the fight
So charge bravely into the fray
Because today just might be the day

When the watchful eye of the raven sees
All of my fulfilling deeds
The old man will come and take me into the sky
When she comes with wings and golden hair
As I rise up into the air
My eyes will open and see I'm on my way to the hall

The axe and shield have served me well
And the gods have seen where I fell
But now as the last breath escapes me
He'll be calling upon his Valkyries

Only honor controlled my life
Not the sway of any fight
And here I die with my brothers now
So few survive but no questions how
Upon the boats and out to sea
Burns the pyre that's carrying me
But I'll rejoice when we raise our horns
Laughing out loud like a thunderstorm

So dont you fear the coming bane
You shall cross to another plane
Time takes us all so dont pretend
Welcome the hall where we'll meet again
