I'm a broken radio,
For static is all you'll hear,
Slight broken tunes and melodies, although they're not clear.
Of what once was cheering,
And what once was endearing,
To now hear no more but only sorrowful feelings.
Although you faintly, through the static, hear these tunes today,
They won't last forever, I'm not here to stay.
I know for a fact one day I'll be gone,
I know for a fact I cannot live on.
When the static stops, and everything's gone away,
When my music ends, and there's nothing more to say.
Once my batteries have used all that they've had,
And I'm left with no power to maintain my stance.
And as I sit here, emitting no sound wave at all,
I think to myself, is this all?
Is this all that'll happen, the way I'll stay?
Or will my power return, and so, will the brighter days?
That's nonsense, I tell myself as I slowly began to rise,
And then I fall back down, to my pit of near-suicide.
To repeat what I've been through, flashing through my eyes,
All over again, I want to die.
