On Such A Beautiful Day Poem by Sofia Moreno

On Such A Beautiful Day

On such a beautiful day
Bright and clear
Flowers smile my way
Birds sing to me
Nothing’s wrong
This peaceful feeling of mine
This calm expression of yours
I can’t believe you’re here
But indeed, you stand here
And now the day turns black
When did the stars come out?
I feel lost in this darkness
But you still stand in front of me
Your hand reaches mine
And the rustling of the leaves above
Hide the rude beating of my heart
The Moon and her complexity
Look down to me and you
And the night expects too much
But, why, you don’t back down
I can’t move, my legs don’t answer
They have expectations of their own
And my hand still holds yours
But, why, you can move, smile
This scent now, is it flowers?
I manage to look around and
My! A pleasant and beautiful look
But indeed, you won’t let go
This feeling, don’t let it engulf you
You move, I envy your freedom
You get closer, I still can’t move
No! My heart burns, my cheeks hurt
And this… This? The night is waiting for a Sun
But only you are here and your eyes
Burn my skin, your hand, where did it go?
It’s climbing, slowly, sadly; up and up
Bump, bump, bu-dum… My heart goes…
And your hand’s on my face…
What do you want? Please free me…
But now, your look, it changes, it wanders
The stars shine brightly, and so does my soul
The Moon waits alone, and so……
And it is now, here, you and me…
