Pilar's War Poem by Sofia Moreno

Pilar's War

Rating: 4.0

It is very possible that
Because of this feeling
My heart runs faster
And my knees start shaking…
That my hands quiver,
And my lips ache and tremble
In the search of yours…
But I understand far well,
It is better to stay in place
Very still and silent so no one
Really knows I’m here.
Maybe I can stop time
But I’ll be left behind…
Only one way out: go back!
I shall plan everything carefully!
Love is not real, love is not real!
Say it again and again.
Maybe it’ll start to sound real.
And my lips shall stop trembling,
And yours won’t call my name.
I’ll just walk away from this,
I’ll live a life without your hands,
And I’ll forget your wise lips.
The way you walk I shall ignore…
And I’ll be let free at last…
Free from this feeling
That started to raid my heart,
And surely disappear from here,
Because this feeling is full—
Full of the life I want to get away from…
