An Asian giant –India
-World’s mammoth democracy prime
Gained freedom seven decades back,
Has rich a heritage in time.
The Father of our nation was
Mahatma Gandhiji, a man,
Who led the freedom struggle well,
And made us free in ways, none can.
Today we celebrate the day,
We got our freedom from Britain;
To freedom-fighters, let’s repay,
Their sacrifice like a mountain.
Our oneness, we must always keep;
Our love for fellowmen must stay;
Corruption must in life not peep;
In peace, we live by night and day.
Let’s fist out terrorism fast;
Our foes can’t frighten us for long;
We wish to forget bitter past;
We want to sing a happy song.
Divisive forces must be held;
Our duties to our nation’s prime;
Our hearts cannot bear hate for next;
We must make life always sublime.
Our brethren’s life is precious-most;
No one must plead for roof or food;
Our nation can bear any cost;
Black-money, bribe, cheating aren't good.
Our farmers need a better deal;
Our soldiers need encouragement;
Our leaders ought to work with zeal,
With change of heart and temperament.
The poor and patients need good health;
All citizens must labor hard;
Our education is true wealth;
Let’s help and speak a kinder word.
Let alcohol, smoking be gone;
Our minds and hearts must think aright;
Let love for Maker be reborn;
Of heaven, we must not lose sight.
Who says our country is poor still?
We must run faster in a race;
Our youth and elders have much will;
We must gather our strength and pace.
Let’s strive to make our nation proud;
We must be more humane to all;
Our words must send a message loud –
Peace is our only clarion call.
Jai Hind! Jai Bharat! Jai Bharatiya!
