On tenterhooks I stand,
Heart strung tight between high hope and heated harm to hand and head.
Not falling flat. Not flying forward. Just suspended, swinging.
Waiting on words to ward off wasps' stings lurking, to settle.
The clock ticks till the night feels near and narrow.
Prayers go up and peace comes down to open the orchard.
God went ahead. It can't be flight of fear or fall of future fortune.
So breathe, and lay fear to far fat foam.
No need to rush, to roam, to rant.
Just gripping grace to remain still in peace, while holding tight piece.
On tenterhooks, together with HE who knows HIS own.
