On The Day You Leave
On the day you leave,
I’ll write you a poem.
All the words can never weave
Your gift of a home.
On the day you leave,
I’ll write you a song.
A give of love you can’t believe,
I’m sorry it took so long.
On the day you leave,
I’ll write you a letter.
Of all the ways I conceived,
This way’s the better.
Although we feel hollow,
Parting is such sweet sorrow.
