On The Isle Of Dongding

On the Isle of Dongding
There are chimps who can sing
Be it solo or sweetly together
There are hens with brown teeth
Who whenever they meet
Love to chew on old pieces of leather
There are gigantic fleas
Who eat black and white cheese
There are peacocks with only one feather
There are pigs who wear wigs
There are bears who dance jigs...
What a right crazy crew altogether!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem is one of a collection of funny verse, written for kids, which I began sometime last year and which I would hope to publish within the next three to four months.Proceeds will go to support an international charity fighting blindness. My grand-daughter Grace, is also visually impaired, incidentally, but, thank heavens, this has not, in the least, dampened her wonderful sense of humour which is truly infectious. Therefore, one could truthfully say that she has not only been my sounding board but also my inspiration!
