On The Waves Of Life Poem by Ankit Raj Goyal

On The Waves Of Life

Rating: 5.0

From the darkest skies to the brightest sun
I travel, to go and come and again
From the misty mountains to the flat plains
I travel, to go and come and again
From the thunderous waves to the silent valley
I travel, to go and come and again
From the coldest nights to the warmest day
I travel, to go and come and again
From the green meadow to the sandy desert
I travel, to go and come yet again

From the enthusiastic West to the still Orient
I travel, to go and come and again
From the flowing riches to the patient temperance
I travel, to go and come and again
From the grave mourner to the merry jester
I travel, to go and come and again
From the bustling cities to the ascetic countryside
I travel, to go and come and again
From the mystical past to the foggy future
I travel, to go and come and again

From the agony of defeat to the thrill of victory
I travel, to go and come and again
From sweet warm joys to lonely paining sorrows
I travel, to go and come and again
From the force of rage to the softness of patience
I travel, to go and come and again
From the mighty monarch to a frail child
I travel, to go and come and again
From the ecstacy of love to the death of separation
I travel, to go n come, why, yet again

What if the seas were a little calmer?
The wind a little slower.
What if the touch was a little lighter?
Time itself an erring traveller.
What if the sky was closer?
The stars here than far yonder.
What if the beast was tamed?
My wild heart a bit reined.
I know not but I fall and rise forever again
Down with the ebb, riding on the tide's gain.

The poem nicely captures various shades of nature, seasons and the swings of mood in our lives. Overall, it appears to present a critical study of human nature.

Thank you for your kind words dear Rajnish. I m grateful to you for taking interest in my poem n appreciating it. Yes I tried to portray swings of mood in this, which to my mind are a wondergul though tiring truth of our existences. Thank you once again.
