On The Way Up Poem by james watkin

On The Way Up

Much will fall away
Coarse-clung of today
In salivating earth-mired greeds.
Much will fall away -
Weighed for its shimmer
In that brain's glimmer
Groped through of Neanderthal breeds.

With more to laugh at
In dropped this and that
Of a conforming straight-faced sneak!
With more to laugh at -
In ego sheddings'
Long encrusted things;
In self-abdication of a freak.
