I held your hand on the school bus.
All the other kids teased us.
Remember, you called me your teddy bear.
They laughed, but we didn't care.
Everyday, I sat next to you at lunch;
We shared cookies with strawberry punch.
At recess we goofed and played pretend.
I swear, you were my very best friend.
One sad day you moved quite far away.
I begged you, but you couldn't stay.
I wrote you letters almost everyday,
But no answers ever came back my way.
You promised you'd return very soon.
I waited, but I never saw you again.
Sometimes I cry when I look to the moon;
I remember you, and I feel the pain.
We were so young and so innocent.
Your smile was so pure, so magnificent.
I didn't know it then, but I loved you.
And It breaks my heart that I still do.
