Once Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Once

Once
When I had small lambs, baby goats without horns
And I too, was so, needed care
As it is with the kids of my age allover, everywhere
I grazed into eyes of those toys
And wondered of the tails and the mouths, then legs
...

Comparing the bodies to myself
Never horn and no tail with two legs and two hands,
Who can make so perfect, Allah?
Such questions and answers were echo of those days
I was child and in love with it all
I took care of my beast the white faced donkey, black
And had shovel, small one for me
And made pond for water, evened lands on them farm
...

Now, long time passed, the decades old since that day
I’m badly in search of simple days
If even just for
Once
