Once In A Year Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Once In A Year

Rating: 5.0

Important event takes place once in a year
With feelings of brotherhood sans fear
Everything is enshrined in constitution
We, people of the country, would love its continuation

Still more years may pass by
Country may progress and still try
With all kinds of firm resolve
To live with peace and solve

Be it boundary disputes or strained relation
Nothing should be left for future to change equation
Respect for mutual territorial integrity
And help to all for alleviation of poverty

These are the slogans we hear
From great leaders to fall in our ears
We cheer up and raise national flag
As mark of true devotion to the tag

How many soldiers die to defend the country?
Any worthless death is counted as simple pity
The death can take at any place or at any time
It is warranted to discuss on table sometimes

Can we not attempt to put a lead permanently?
To destabilize the other nation covertly
Live in harmony with peaceful coexistence
Let that come from international community with equal insistence
