Once In My Dreams Poem by Randy McClave

Once In My Dreams

She once was in my dreams
In the most romantic and exotic themes,
She was always there
Especially after I had said my prayer.
When I closed my eyes excitedly to go to sleep
Knowing images of her in my mind I would always keep,
I couldn't wait at night to close my eyes
Knowing seeing her in my dream was my prize.
When awake she was always my number one
And only at night because of her would I ever yawn
Thoughts of her was part of my every day
Happy I always was I must always say.
During the day she was my everything
She caused my heart and my soul to always sing,
And when she told me that she was all mine
I indeed was then walking on cloud nine.
Then I found out that I was in a dream
I didn't see or hear or know of her backstabbing scheme,
She once gave me my dreams and never affairs
Now instead of dreams, she gives me nightmares.
